A Good Life
ANGELSPEAKE
By Barbara Mark & Trudy Griswold
You have the right to a good life. You do not have to be abused,
overworked, or underpaid. You can be happy!
The first time the angels told us that we were bowled over. It had
never occurred to us that life wasn’t supposed to be filled with
trouble and work and worry. It had never really occurred to us that
we could expect to be happy. We had believed, as our parents had
taught us, that life was hard. The angels taught us differently.
The Angels Speake:
“Dear Ones who work and worry and wonder why your life is so
difficult, we would tell you that it is difficult because you expect
it to be difficult. Someone told you life was hard when you were but
a small one and you have made it so ever since.
“When you were just a baby expectations were placed on you. You were
told, “That’s a good girl,” when you smiled. “You’re a brave boy,”
was said when you climbed high. All of these were signs from your
parents that you were wonderful and you could do no wrong.
“But at some point, you began to be told, “No! No!” You little hands
were slapped when they wandered too far and your behind was thumped
when you didn’t listen. You began to find out that your actions had
consequences and some of those consequences were painful.
“As you grew older, unacceptable behavior had even more serious
consequences. Homework was expected and if it wasn’t done you
received a poor grade. Your family had rules and you were expected
to obey them or you were punished or grounded. If you rebelled too
much from authority, even higher authorities were called upon to
make sure you conformed to the law and if you continued in your
rebellion, you knew you could be shut away with other rebels. You
learned, in some way, that there were boundaries in life and if you
didn’t stay within them, you were not acceptable.
“You began to think that life was not easy. That if you didn’t do
the “right” thing, you would not succeed. You spent a lot of time
trying to figure out what the “right” thing was, and never felt that
you knew it. Perhaps you felt there was a “secret” to life and you
didn’t know it. You saw others who apparently seemed to succeed
easily. When you had to struggle, you believed you were the only one
who was doing so. You began to accept that your life was hard and
was always going to be so.
“Stop that thinking! Life is not hard! Life is good. When you think
life is hard, you are simply not flowing with the energy that
surrounds you and is leading you to joy and greatness. Your
expectation of difficulty is attracting the difficulty.
“Listen to how you speak. If you say, “I don’t have any money,” then
you won’t. When you say, “I don’t want a relationship,” are you
really saying, “I don’t think I can have a relationship”? When you
acknowledge being tired, you will be more tired. Whatever you
proclaim, will eventually happen. If you change your expectation,
you will change your reality.
“Life is not easy, true. Do not confuse a good life with an easy
life. They are different. We angels are here to help you find the
path to a good life, through lessons, which you asked us to help you
learn.
“We say to you again, you do have the right to a good life! Not an
easy life, but not a hard life either. You get what you expect.
Decide this day to expect goodness. This expectation will lead you
to your purpose and your greatness. Ask us to help you.”
Faith Builder:
Accept no less than a good day, today. You have the right to a good
day.
