How God
Loves You
ANGELSPEAKE
By Barbara Mark & Trudy Griswold
When our angels first began to teach us, they spoke a great deal
about love. They spoke particularly about Pure Love, which we had
never heard of. Here is what they taught us:
The Angels Speak:
God does not love like you do. This is why it is so hard to
understand Him. God loves purely. Pure Love is the true ideal.
Pure love is. It just is. It is within and without. It surrounds.
Pure love is like sunlight. It is just there, and it cannot be
anything else. It is consistent, true, unrelenting, and undeniable.
Pure love is energy, not an opinion. It is like air. It surrounds
you and yet it can be taken within you. It can’t be seen, only felt.
It is God. It is the essence of His being which makes Him God.
Why is it so important to know this? Only so you will stop putting
so much weight on whether you have or do not have love in your life.
The answer is, “You do.” More than you can imagine.
People think about love all the time. They think about love as
though it was a commodity that could be acquired. There is a feeling
that love must be shared or returned or earned. There is a feeling
that it can be given, or taken, or won, or lost. Attitudes about
love change whimsically. Statements such as “I used to love him,” or
“I don’t love him any more,” are bandied about casually as though
love could be bestowed and then taken away.
People talk about unconditional love, thinking that they are saying,
“I love you just the way you are,” but, in truth, the meaning is “I
love you just the way you are as long as you are the way I can love
you.” When one looks for someone to “love” they say they want a soul
mate, meaning “someone who matches me in every significant way.”
There is an idea of perfection that is included in these definitions
of love and yet that idea of perfection seems to be ever changing
and elusively ambiguous depending on the time of life you are in.
Perfect love to an infant is warmth, dryness, and food. Perfect love
to the baby’s mother shows her love by bestowing those things. One
love is to give; the other is to receive-- back and forth, back and
forth.
Love given, love returned. Love given, love withdrawn. Love is true
until its not. This is human love.
You have heard the quote, “Be still and know that I am God.” It is
in the stillness that you will find His pure love. Be still. Bask in
the knowing that His love is there. And you don’t have to do a thing
to earn it or prove it. Pure love just is.
Faith Builder:
Sit in the sun and imagine that the rays and the air you breathe are
God’s pure love for you.
