Life is
Good
ANGELSPEAKE
By Barbara Mark & Trudy Griswold
Life is a diving board, not a plank.
Not long ago, the angels gave us this wonderful message when we were
worried about something we were afraid was going to happen. It is
easy to get the “dreads” when life is not going our way. Fear enters
and we no longer expect good things. This wonderful quote from our
angels reminded us to look at life as pleasurable, rather than a
disaster.
“Worry is the indefinable feeling that God doesn’t know what He’s
doing” is another quote we like. You can bet that when fear comes
in, wanting control is with it. God becomes distant. We have begun
to “take over” and when we do that, we are lost and afraid. Peace of
mind becomes history.
The Angels Speake:
Dear Ones. It is amazing to us that you find fear in so many places.
Fear is an opinion only, and most of the fears that attach to you
have nothing to do with reality. We can see the bigger picture, and
we know you make up the most amazing stories to bring fear to
yourself.
Here are some things we observe. Your spouse is late. Is it just
traffic? Or is he dead in a wreck? Your child gets a runny nose. Is
he catching cold? Or is this pneumonia? You avoid people because
they might be mad at you. You buy things you cannot pay for. You do
not watch the time, so you have to rush. You will not tell someone
you love him or her because they might not love you back.
So many scenarios are created every day to keep fear alive and
healthy in your life. Why are you doing this to yourself?
There are many reasons. Number one is poor self-esteem. When you
think you are less than others, you believe that you are going to
get hurt in some way. Your boss has more authority than you,
therefore he can hurt you by firing you or denying you benefits you
need, thus you fear him. Your parents have said terrible things to
you in the past; therefore you avoid them because they may do so
again. Bad experiences have made you wary and avoiding. You begin to
live in a smaller world when you are fearful.
The words of fear are: might, maybe, perhaps, could, should, and
can’t. Others fit too, but when you are living in the future where
fear always resides, these are the words that come when thoughts of
fear enter. These are restricting words. There is no freedom in
fear.
Life is good. Ask us to help you stop thinking it isn’t. Ask us to
take away your fearful thoughts and to replace them with happy ones.
Imagined difficulties are just that—imagined. Be fearful only in the
now when fear is appropriate to keep you safe.
Y2K is a prime example of how people can work themselves into a huge
state of frenzy by being afraid of the future. Millions of people
wouldn’t even leave their homes on one of the grandest nights of
their lives. New Years Eve, 2000, a new millennium was being born
and people huddled in their homes surrounded by survival supplies
and waited for cold and dark to enter. Why? Because they forgot that
life is good, that God is, and that the angels were watching over
them, keeping them safe and bringing love.
Yes life is good. Difficult times come. But fear is about what has
not yet happened. Fear is about imagination and dark thoughts. Fear
is to expect trouble. There is another saying to remember. “Don’t
borrow trouble. The interest rates are too high.”
Faith Builder:
Make a list of all your fears. See them for what they are—only an
expectation of future pain.
