Perhaps it is time for you to pray more and worry less."

Resting Times

By Barbara Mark & Trudy Griswold

As human beings, we have our good days and our not so good days. Maybe you have gone through a lengthy period that seemed like never-ending-dial-tone. Perhaps you thought something was wrong with you. Our students frequently ask us what they can do to get themselves back to their normal, happy, energetic, productive, busy selves.

Dear Ones,

God has no deadlines. He has given you work to do in your life, and he knows you will get it done, but not now. Your brain creates the thought that you are not doing enough. Your brain does not understand your spirit. Your brain runs your body. Your brain is the part of you that causes the most trouble. When your brain says, do, do, do, and your body feels it needs to rest, then rest. Follow your truth no matter what your brain is telling you. Difficult days occur when your brain and your inner knowing are in conflict.

Humans are so hard on themselves. We see you work hard at living, and then say you haven’t done enough. We see you work even harder at play. You challenge yourselves to do better, or more, or higher, or faster. You think you must win! There is no prize for the one who rests the best.

We say to you today, that it would be good for you to throw your lists away. We say to put your head in a drawer. Turn off your brain. Be at peace with yourself and do what you need to do. Today your only objective is to enjoy your day--to be gentle with yourselves. Do not worry about what you are doing or when it will get done. Today is yours to enjoy. If you were supposed to be energetic and busy, you would feel that way.

When life is perplexing, take it a day at a time. Do each day the best you can. Some days you will feel more energized than others and you will accomplish more. Other days you will be tired and will not want to do much. You are realigning, balancing, and growing. You may not be growing in your bones or muscle, but your inner self needs time to reflect and move into new phases. It is this way with everyone.

When you go for days and feel blah, know that we are with you and that you are in a time of transition. You are feeling lost because what you were used to is shifting into a new place you are not yet comfortable with. As you go forward, you will begin to get “glimpses” of shifts in your personality and in your awareness. In the meantime, rest and know that this, too, shall pass.

There is nothing for you to do. There is nothing wrong with you. Enjoy this time of blah.

Faith Builder: Today, sit in a chair and enjoy your favorite music for one hour. Allow rest.
