ANGELSPEAKE

Many of the events we see on TV, or have to live through ourselves,
are not understandable. But we who are “angel people” see that every
adversity is surrounded with an opportunity to practice love. All we
have to do is turn on the news to be reminded how our angels are
always with us, how they help us, and how we can help the angels. If
you can get by the horror of children killing each other, or bombs
being dropped, or huge winds coming out of the sky to destroy
everything, then you can see the angels at work.
Q: Would you please ask the angels why so many bad things
happen? It is hard for me to understand myself, let alone explain to
my kids.
Angels: There are always two sides to every story. Often, as
you watch TV, you are seeing only the darkest part. People are shown
at their worst moment. Death and destruction is much more
interesting than love and rebuilding. As you see a man whose house
has just been destroyed and his loss is most painful, look beyond
that picture to see the loving souls who are just outside of camera
range and who are there to help rebuild. As you see a child in a
concentration camp, look just beyond to see all the others who are
sacrificing much to help that little one have a cup of food. For
every bad, there is a good. Never look at only the destruction; also
look for the rebuilding. And when your little one asks why, answer
this way. “So we will have the chance to help God help other
people.”
Q: I see so much on TV that breaks my heart, and I want to
help, but what can I do? I can’t go to help and I don’t have money
to send.
Angels: Then pray. Whenever you see a catastrophe on TV,
drive by a car crash, or see a funeral procession go by, pray for
the survivors. It is easy to see a child walking on crutches and to
think, “God bless that sweet child.” But think of the parents and
brothers and sisters and medical people who also need prayers to
help the child. Pray for their inspiration and patience. Send all
who help that child a blessing too. Prayer is one of the greatest
gifts you can give any soul. Send this gift often.
Q: I have arthritis and am in pain all the time. What can
I do to help God?
Angels: Turn your pain into a blessing. Give your suffering
for another and take the focus off yourself. When you see something
that touches your heart and you would like to help and cannot
because of your own infirmity, pray this way. “Dear God, I offer my
pain for these souls I see who are hurting too. Help my distress
make theirs less.” Thus your misery becomes a beautiful gift. God
rejoices at such gifts.
