Dynamic
Praying
ANGELSPEAKE
Trudy Griswold and Barbara Mark
A friend of ours was redecorating her bedroom and had spent a great
deal of time and effort to make it look perfect. She particularly
wanted a new bedspread to harmonize with a rug she had purchased.
The rug was difficult to match and Judy the had just about lost hope
in finding one. Then, one morning while she was making her bed, she
happened to look at the reverse side of the quilt, which was her
current spread and she saw that the color on the opposite side of
the quilt was perfect. It blended right in, matched a shade she
loved in the rug and tied the whole bedroom together. There was the
answer right before her and she didn’t have to buy anything new.
Prayer is usually like this. We think in a linear way. We want a
result and we pray for it. Here is a typical prayer a person might
make. “Dear God, please help me sell my house.” There is nothing
wrong with this prayer. But like Judy the viewing her old bedspread
in a new way, if you turn it over and see your request from a
different perspective, your prayer will broaden and suit better and
more fully. Here is the same prayer from a different viewpoint.
“Dear God, help the person who is going to buy my house find it soon
and recognize it as theirs immediately.”
The first prayer--please help me sell my house--implies that there
is something you must do. That there is some effort you must make in
order for the house to sell. In God’s divine universe, it is
important you turn over to Him the work you want His angels to do
for you. When you pray for someone you have never met to find you,
then you can rest in faith and confidence that all is in divine
right order and that your house will be sold when the perfect buyer
discovers it. You are then Letting Go and Letting God.
Q: When I turn my request over to God, does this mean I am to
do nothing?
The Angels Speak: Look at the situation, Child. If you are
going to sell your house, what is your part in the sale? Do you need
to prepare the house in some way so the buyer will desire it as
their own? Do you need to clean, paint, fix, or repair? These things
are yours to do. The preparation is your business. The purchase is
not. The purchase is the buyer’s business. Their prayer might be,
“Dear God, please help us find our perfect home which is now being
prepared for us.” It is the blending of prayers that make the
connection. The request…the answer. Two separate things coming
together from two separate directions to solve one request, which is
in this case selling and buying a house.
Q: How do I know what is my business?
The Angels Speak: Your business is what you can do. Just ask
yourself, “Is this mine to do?” If the answer is yes, then do it.
Otherwise pray for the other person’s success. Pray for the success
of the outcome from the other person’s point of view. This is
dynamic prayer. You are covering all the corners of the situation
and it cannot fail. This is being at one with the situation.
You…God…The Seeker. All three energies are combining their prayer
effort for one result.
Faith Builder: Today pray from someone else’s point of view.
Pray for their success in finding you.
