Hit by
Lightning
ANGELSPEAKE
Trudy Griswold and Barbara Mark
Dannion Brinkley, who wrote “Saved By the Light” was hit by
lightening twice! That is a pretty dramatic way for God to get his
attention. Although we sisters haven’t ever been hit by lightening
literally, we have been “hit” in ways that changed our lives
forever. None of them were wedding days, or a job change, or the
birth of a child. They were just normal days where something
occurred, a new realization happened, and from then on our lives
were totally different.
By far the most life changing event was when the angels woke us up.
From that time on, it was like there was the time “before angels”
and now the time “with angels.” Everything about us is different—our
outlook, our personalities, our work, our friendships, and our
purpose in life. It is unexplainable and we know it is permanent
even if it is very hard to understand. Even to us.
We get requests for “angel readings” (where we talk to a person’s
angels for them) from people who are seekers as we were. For many
there is a sense of immanence that something is about to happen, and
here is what we have learned. That the more restless you are in your
daily life and the more intense the feeling of anticipation, the
closer is the epiphany experience. You will never know when, or how,
or what, but it will happen.
Q: Angels, please tell me what is happening? I am distressed
because I feel there is something I am supposed to be doing.
The Angels Speak: Child, we say to you to do nothing, for
there is nothing to do. You have angels who are taking care of you
and who are guiding you carefully. They will not allow you to miss
anything you are supposed to do in your life. You have contracted
with God to do certain work and to learn lessons of importance. This
shall be done. Spiritual seekers often have this feeling before new
consciousness comes to them. In the meantime, be still and know that
you cannot miss the work you were born to do, for no one else can do
it but you.
Q: It seems so passive just to sit and wait.
The Angels Speak: Do not wait. Do the tasks you are to do
each day--pray for guidance, help others, and follow your inner
knowing. Do all of these things with love and joy in your heart and
you will be doing God’s work even though it is not what you would
define as great work. Small work serves God, too.
Q: Can I prepare myself for what is to come?
The Angels Speak: Yes, Child. Volunteer in a way that would
make you happy. What is in your heart to do for free is part of
God’s plan for you. It is what you love best. If you want to help
children enough to do it for no pay, then do so. If you want to be a
helper of the dying through Hospice, do so. If you want to carry a
sack and fill it with trash while you walk along the beach, do so.
There is plenty to do for God. There is only one rule for doing
God’s work. “Follow Your Heart.” You heart is the place where you
hear God.
Faith Builder:
Today, work for God by doing something just because you feel
like it and because you love doing it.
