Neil Donald Walsh, author of Conversations With God says that he
became such a human “doing” that he got into big “do-do”… as does
everyone who puts his or her work before God’s work. Think for a
moment, what do you “do” to justify your life so you can be happy in
what we have named the “rat race?”
The Angels Speak
One of the most troublesome concepts in your world is the eight-hour
day or the 40-hour work week. Worse yet is reward for overtime.
These concepts of time for work, time for play, time for sleep, has
kept most people compartmentalized and striving for approval.
Another foolish thing is the time clock. Isn’t it silly that at a
certain moment you go from being un-useful to being useful and that
usefulness is defined as when you get money for what you do?
Q: Angels, we have to work to support ourselves.
Angels: We are even more aware of that than you, child. It is
not the work we are talking about, it is the attitude about work
that is the lesson today. Here is what we want to teach today.
Find contentment in whatever you do, wherever you are. Find the
beauty in your beingness. For even if your situation is not perfect
forever, it is perfect for today and we are aware of your harmony or
disharmony within it. Be as content and grateful as is possible
today. When you are attuned with God, your work and what His will is
for you, are the same. Finding joy in what you do is the goal. Then
you will know that you are doing God’s will.
Q: I was taught that idle hands are a devil’s playground.
Angels: We are not saying that you are not supposed to work.
You are. We want you to find the joy in it. That saying was created
in a time on earth where it took the entire family to make a living.
The individual was not a concern. The work was done from dawn to
dark and it was a family effort. Parents liked such statements to
keep their children busy. Times are different today.
Dear Ones, you are more important than the work you do. You are more
beautiful than the result of your work effort. In God’s mind, you
are beautiful because you are. To God you are light and your very
existence is glorious. Joy is the feeling that says that your being
and doing are perfectly balanced.
Q: My boss wouldn’t think so. He just wants me to work
harder.
Angels: Your boss is God and He speaks to you through your
heart. If you are happy in the work you do, then you are doing God’s
will. If you are not happy, and your work is toilsome, then be aware
that God may have other plans in mind for you. Be open. There are
many on earth who think that work must be painful and hard. God says
to be joyful in all you do. When you are joyful, then you know you
are doing what God desires you to do and it is good. Money, title,
and prestige have nothing to do with the importance of you in God’s
eyes.
